Art in the Park shares Elvis Festival weekend

Posted Feb 16, 2012 By EMC News

EMC Entertainment - Tweed -Partnering with the success of last year's Tweed Tribute to Elvis Festival, the annual Art in the Park will be held on the same weekend as the Elvis festival, August 25. Tweed hosted over 2,000 visitors to the festival last year, and it is expected that number will be exceeded this year.

What this means for artists and artisans who participate in Art in the Park 2012 is a much larger audience of visitors looking for things to do in Tweed, in addition to the festival. Many travellers will stop to see what is going on, and this should mean better sales opportunities for our artists and crafters. A large sign for the Art in the Park will be placed well before the turn into the Tweed Memorial Park to attract travellers driving through Tweed.

The theme for the 2012 Tweed Tribute to Elvis Festival is "Aloha, Tweed!" The town will be festooned with Hawaiian decorations, the stores will emphasize the theme in their windows. Many downtown events are planned for our visitors to enjoy.

Space for Tweed's annual Art in the Park is limited, and with the added bonus of sharing the Elvis Festival weekend, the display spaces will fill up fast. Anyone interested in booking a display space should contact Maril Swan, by e-mail at < marilswan@yahoo.com>,or by phone at 613-478-5003 as soon as possible for an application and information pages.
