EMC Sports - The sun was shining down on the Batawa K2 Bandits once again this weekend as two members of the team brought home medals from the Giant Slalom race at Mansfield Ski Club near Alliston on Sunday, January 29.

With a combined time of 1:07:17 Caroline Burchat brought home her second gold of the season scoring 50 points in the female division. For the third consecutive week, Natalie Wannamaker made it to the podium after carving out a combined time of 1:13:79 resulting in a bronze medal.

Also scoring were Jared Taylor 32 points, Elizabeth Hurley and Mathew Doxtator each notching 30 points for a team total of 182 points. Only five out of seven Batawa racers were able to attend which resulted in Milton winning the series with a score of 284.

"It's great to see the girl powerhouse at work," says coach Brian Wannamaker. "It really is a whole team effort involved in getting racers to the podium. Everyone is doing their part to push each other to their respective personal best."

North York/Snow Valley beat Heights of Horseshoe 284 - 238 and Mansfield beat Georgian Peaks 282 - 238.
