Jaclyn Grimmon and Colleen Vickers-Lleywegt celebrate Frostfest.
Special events co-ordinator Colleen Vickers-Kleywegt says the fun starts Friday night with $15 lift tickets at Batawa Ski Hill from 4:30 to 10 p.m.
On Saturday, there will be indoor and outdoor activities at the Batawa Community Centre from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
"We are really excited to be partnering again with Batawa Development Corporation and the Ski Hill," Colleen says.
There will be Kristy's Portable Petting Zoo with all kinds of animals for the children to pet, a bouncy inflatable, outdoor skating on the new rink, a horse-drawn carriage through the village from Blaine Way, and all kinds of winter crafts.
The Trenton Twirlers perform on stage at 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Andy Forgie performs at 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m.
"The Youth Advisory Committee is providing volunteers for the crafts," Colleen notes.
The event is all free, with the exception of a small charge for lunch provided by Seniors Unlimited including hot dogs for the kids and coffee for the adults.
"The event gets bigger and better every year," says Jaclyn Grimmon, manager of recreation and tourism services. "We have great support. Families appreciate the event, with no admission cost."
She said outdoor and indoor activities guarantee a good time, no matter the weather.
Celebrate the winter season!
